Excel conditional formatting (New Rule) 2 : lesson 19 :

Fourth : format only values that above or below the average :

All we will do just select the cells you want to apply the rule on , then choose weather above or below the average and select the format you want .

fifth: format only unique or duplicated cells :

the same as ‘Highlight cells rules’  , just select cells and choose whether duplicated or unique values .

Sixth: use a formula to determine which cells to format:

this is one of the most important conditional rule because we can use it in more than one purpose, it use a formula to get the results you want. For example, you can use a conditional formula to find blank
cells
Select the whole sheet or you can select range of cells or row or columns

Conditional formatting then new rule then chooses the last rule ' use a formula to determine which cells to format’

Choose format type whether font or color or borders or all of them,

After we choose the format of cell , in the text box ‘format value where this formula is true ‘ in this formula text box we can write a lot of formula to be our conditional formula  for the selected cells , in this example we want to format blank cells in the sheet as we said before  any formula starts  with equal sign , the write the cell you want to start our formatting rule from
=a1= ""
This means that format the sheet starting from a1 when the cell is blank

Then click ok to finish,

the result is all blank cells were formatted

We will get back to this rule again after we study more functions like if , count if ,and ,or ......etc .
