Lesson 11 : Excel conditional Formatting ( Highlight cells rules ) :




Our first lesson  will be the first choice in the list which is ‘Highlight cells rules’ this rule will highlight the cell or font under preset rule like 'Greater than' 

we select column B and click on 'Greater than' 
window will open with text box , write the number which You want to format cells greater than.
Then choose the color from the drop down list on the right
You can also customize your format by choosing another font or another color not in the list just choose ‘custom format ‘ from the drop down list

  as we can see in the figure we format the numbers which are greater than 3000 (B5,B6) 



less than , between , equal to and text that contains  ; all these rules are the same as Greater than'  you have text box for the rule number and drop down list to choose color
A Date Occurring : the same way but this is regarding cells that contains dates occurring
As we can see in figure below we selected column F which contains dates of modifying data ,


After click ‘ A Date Occurring’ you can choose which date you want to format ex : today , yesterday ...etc and choose the color of formatted cells
·       This rule valid only to cells contains dates .


The most used rule in this lesson is Duplicate values
This rule highlights duplicated values in the selected range as we can see in the figure  we select column B and click  ‘Duplicate values’ 




Notice that the cells contains the same values were highlighted (B3’B7)

The last thing is ‘More Rule’ we will discuss it later because it is the same as ‘new rule’ J
